What Are the Health Recommendations Regarding Electromagnetism and Wave Signal Pollution?
The World Health Organization and the French charity La Ligue Contre le Cancer explain that most cancers (around 40%) can be prevented.
One of the factors that may increase cancer risk is prolonged exposure to electromagnetic signals from low-quality products or materials.
Electromagnetic waves are everywhere: from our mobile phones to Wi-Fi in the home, connected devices using Bluetooth, induction hobs, and even poor-quality light bulbs.
Bluetooth should ideally be deactivated when not in use, as it emits constant electromagnetic radiation. Personally, I do not recommend purchasing connected devices that keep Bluetooth turned on at all times, due to this ongoing exposure.
When using a mobile phone, it is wise to deactivate Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and even mobile data during calls if they are not necessary. These simple measures can help reduce the brain’s exposure to electromagnetic fields.
Some health and sustainability websites also recommend switching your mobile network settings from 4G to 3G, especially when you’re not using high-bandwidth services like video streaming. Lowering the signal demand reduces electromagnetic emissions. In fact, when a phone struggles to find a signal, it increases its emission strength in an attempt to connect to the nearest antenna—thus increasing your exposure.
